Moroccan Adventure Yoga Retreat for Women

Join us for a trip of a lifetime! For 9 days and 8 nights, indulge your sense of adventure as we engage in yoga, sisterhood, and sight-seeing. Explore one of the Imperial Cities of Morocco - Marrakech, also known as The Red City, and get to know the Southern Loop of this beautiful land as we journey into the Sahara desert, crossing the Atlas Mountains, and camp in the biggest dunes in the country. This retreat is filled with a rich immersion into local culture and traditions and, as with all Soulspeak Wellness retreats, includes opportunities to support and be of service to the local community.

*Check out our trip at a quick glance… (itinerary subject to change)

Day 1: Arrive in Marrakech - Monday, October 7

Arrive at RAK and find our driver to transfer to our countryside villa. Settle in and unwind and then join in for an evening yoga practice before dinner. Get plenty of rest, because we have an early departure the next morning!

Day 2: Agdz - Tuesday, October 8

Depart bright and early in our SUV 4x4's for a trip across the High Atlas Mountains, retracing the steps of the ancient trade caravans from Timbuktu. Follow the valley of 1000 kasbahs and explore ruins and fortified cities, including the infamous Kasbah Telouet. End the day in the palm oasis of the Draa Valley, in the village of Agdz (aptly named "resting place"), where we'll spend the night in the middle of the oasis. Wind down with a rooftop yoga session and enjoy some good food, good wine, and good company.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga Camp - Wednesday, October 9

Depart after breakfast to continue the journey south. As the mountains fade into the background, the desert scenes become more prominent. Enjoy afternoon yoga, swimming, and a lunch break before taking the cars off-road for a 2-hour jaunt through the desert. Arrive to camp, nestled in the biggest dunes of the Moroccan Sahara - Erg Chegaga. You'll be greeted with Moroccan tea - Sahara style - and take some time to unpack and settle in for the next two nights. Dinner and campfire await!

Day 4: Erg Chegaga Camp - Thursday, October 10

After sunrise yoga & breakfast, head out for an afternoon adventure to visit a traditional nomad family. Engage with the culture in the Sahara and learn about local traditions and customs, including how to make tea using sap from the Acacia tree and bread using an oven made from sand. Return to camp for lunch and downtime. Close out the evening with a sunset camel ride, dune surfing, dinner and a campfire.

Day 5: Ouarzazate - Friday, October 11

Wake up to catch the Sahara sunrise before departing towards the village of Taznakt. Visit a women's weaving co-op, and see the artists behind the looms working on their amazing textiles. Learn about the Moroccan carpet industry and see the different styles of rugs (you may even shop for one that you can have shipped to your home). Enjoy lunch and continue the drive to the city of Ouarzazate, where we'll spend the evening in a beautiful hotel with a swimming pool, evening yoga, and a relaxing dinner.

Day 6: Marrakech - Saturday, October 12

After morning yoga & breakfast, hit the road for the final hours of our "Southern Loop" trip, back to Marrakech to settle in for the next 3 nights. Arrive at our countryside accommodation and settle in for an evening meditation session before dinner.

Day 7: Discover the Marrakech Medina - Sunday, October 13

Morning yoga and breakfast kick off a packed day of discovering the Red City! Enjoy a full day of guided tours of the ancient old town (medina) of Marrakech - including visits to the opulent Palais Bahia, the Madrasa ben Youssef, Jemaa al Fna (big square of Marrakech), a local spice market, artisan markets (souks) and much, much more. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant to end the day.

Day 8: Marrakech - Monday, October 14

After our final morning yoga session, we'll engage with the Amal Centre for a cooking class and a day of service with this amazing organization dedicated to the empowerment of women. Enjoy some downtime in the afternoon and choose your own adventure, perhaps enjoying the hammam spas. We will join together one final time that evening as we head to a local dining spot to end the night with delicious food and traditional entertainment.
